Project Overview

The Thomas Worthington High School Addition and Renovation delivered a new building for the Worthington City School District in Worthington, Ohio, designed with a Worthington style exterior and modern architectural elements throughout. The $113 million project encompassed 71 academic and science classrooms, a media center overlooking a student dining area that connected to an outdoor gathering space, a 900 seat auditorium, a competition gym, an auxiliary gym, and several fine arts spaces. With so much new architecture yet to be built, the client needed a way to show a public school district selection committee what the finished campus would look and feel like. PRESWERX partnered with the client's team to bring that vision to life.

Client Challenges

Presenting a large new high school that existed only on paper required a way to make an unbuilt design feel real to a public school selection committee:

  • Visualizing distinctive spaces such as the 900 seat auditorium, competition gym, and media center before construction began.

  • Conveying the Worthington style exterior design and how it would read on the finished campus.

  • Standing out in a competitive bid for a major public school district contract.

Together, these challenges called for visuals detailed enough to make the design tangible.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX produced a complete set of renderings and animations for the pursuit, giving the selection committee a detailed look at the finished high school before ground was broken. The renderings captured the Worthington style exterior and key interior spaces, including the media center, student dining area, and outdoor gathering space, while the auditorium, competition gym, and auxiliary gym were rendered to show scale and finish. The animations carried viewers through the building, connecting individual spaces into a single continuous experience of the finished campus. Together, the deliverables turned architectural drawings into a clear, finished vision of the school.

PRESWERX Approach

With a large new building and no constructed space to show, PRESWERX built the pursuit around detailed visualization rather than description.

  • Rendered signature spaces, including the auditorium, gyms, and media center, to their finished level of detail.

  • Built animations that moved the viewer through the building to convey scale and flow.

  • Carried the Worthington style exterior design through every rendering for visual consistency.

The result was a set of visuals that made an unbuilt school feel finished.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a full set of renderings and animations built to the standard of a major public school district selection process.

  • The renderings gave the committee a finished view of the auditorium, gyms, media center, and exterior design.

  • The animations let viewers move through the building and understand how its spaces connected.

  • The visuals turned a 71 classroom addition and renovation into a tangible, finished vision.

The client's team walked into the selection process with a clear, finished picture of the school to support their story.
