Project Overview

The Town of Cary Sports Complex called for a 200,000 to 300,000 square foot multipurpose indoor facility designed to attract and host youth, collegiate, and amateur sports events across Wake County. The program included 12 basketball courts convertible to 20 volleyball courts, a 4,000 seat arena, and 1,200 total parking spaces, all built to double as a modern community center that Cary residents would recognize as their own. Presenting a $147 million facility that had to serve both regional sports tourism and everyday community life required a clear, confident pursuit interview. PRESWERX developed the pursuit presentation, renderings, animations, and film content, and coached the team for its final interview.

Client Challenges

Presenting a $147 million facility built to serve two audiences at once demanded a story a selection panel could follow easily:

  • Showing how a 4,000 seat, 12 court arena could also read as an approachable community center.

  • Making the scale of a 200,000 to 300,000 square foot facility, plus 1,200 parking spaces, feel manageable rather than overwhelming.

  • Preparing the team to field detailed questions on flexibility, capacity, and community use in the final interview.

Balancing scale with everyday usability was the challenge the presentation had to solve.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX built the full pursuit presentation for the interview, translating the arena's 12 basketball courts, 4,000 seat capacity, and 1,200 parking spaces into a single clear narrative. The team produced renderings and animations of the completed facility, along with film content illustrating how the space would flex between tournament events and everyday community use. PRESWERX then coached the presentation team through structured rehearsals, refining delivery and preparing responses to anticipated questions about scale, flexibility, and the facility's role as a community center ahead of the final interview.

PRESWERX Approach

With a facility meant to serve both regional tournaments and daily community life, the presentation needed to make both roles feel natural:

  • Built renderings and animations that showed the arena at tournament scale and at community center scale.

  • Produced film content demonstrating the facility's flexibility between event days and everyday use.

  • Coached the team through multiple rehearsals to sharpen pacing and readiness for detailed panel questions.

The approach gave the team a presentation that felt as flexible as the facility itself.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a presentation package built to the standard the project's scale and civic role demanded:

  • Renderings and animations that gave the panel a clear picture of the finished arena and community center.

  • Film content that showed how the facility would flex between tournaments and everyday use.

  • A rehearsed team ready to answer detailed questions on scale and community function in the final interview.

The client's team walked into the final interview with a complete, well rehearsed case for the project.
