Project Overview

The Yuma County Historic Courthouse Renovation project called for the revitalization of a landmark civic building located at 168 S. 2nd Ave. in Yuma, Arizona. Funded by Yuma County in response to steady regional population growth, the $2.5 million renovation addressed the need for expanded county services within an existing historic structure. The project balanced preservation of the building's historic character with the functional demands of a modernized public facility. The client engaged PRESWERX to develop a competitive pursuit package that included a proposal, a polished presentation, and targeted coaching to prepare the team for the selection process.

Client Challenges

The client faced a multi-layered challenge: telling a compelling story around a historic renovation in a competitive public-sector procurement. Key challenges included:

  • Communicating the complexity of renovating an occupied historic structure as a coherent, owner-focused narrative

  • Differentiating the team in a formal public procurement process against experienced local competitors

  • Translating technical scope into a presentation that resonated with a county board audience

  • Preparing the project team to deliver a confident, consistent message under live interview conditions

A clear, unified pursuit strategy was essential to address each of these demands.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX developed a full pursuit package tailored to the requirements of a public-sector selection for a historic renovation. The team produced a written proposal that organized the client's qualifications and approach into a clear, owner-facing narrative for the Yuma County Board of Supervisors. PRESWERX also built a structured presentation aligned with the project's historic character and the county's community-service objectives. Alongside the materials, the team conducted targeted presentation coaching sessions to align the client's key spokespeople on message, sequence, and delivery before the formal selection event.

PRESWERX Approach

PRESWERX approached the pursuit as an integrated strategy, connecting the written proposal, presentation, and coaching into a single unified narrative. Key actions included:

  • Developing a proposal structured around the county's service-expansion goals and the building's historic significance

  • Designing a presentation that conveyed the client's technical qualifications without losing the owner-centered story

  • Running coaching sessions that aligned the team on key themes, sequencing, and confident delivery

The result was a pursuit package where every element reinforced the same core message.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX produced a fully integrated pursuit package that held the client's team to a consistent, owner-focused standard across every deliverable. Key outcomes included:

  • A proposal that translated complex renovation scope into a clear, accessible narrative for a county board audience

  • A presentation structured to demonstrate qualifications while remaining grounded in the county's community and service priorities

  • Coaching that left the team aligned, confident, and prepared for the live selection environment

The client entered the selection process with a unified story and a team ready to deliver it.
