Project Overview
Westside Middle School in Jacksonville, Florida underwent a $12.8 million renovation and expansion as part of a multi-system capital renewal program for Duval County Public Schools. The project encompassed a new building addition to accommodate increased student enrollment and expanded administrative capacity, a full renovation and expansion of the cafeteria and server kitchen, and interior renovation work throughout the existing facility to address deferred maintenance and improve circulation. Temporary utility infrastructure supported uninterrupted meal service during active construction. PRESWERX partnered with the client to develop the full pursuit package, including a proposal, renderings, and animations.

Client Challenges
The client needed to communicate a technically complex, multi-phase school renovation to a public-sector owner with high community accountability. Key challenges included:
Conveying the scope and phasing of simultaneous construction activity across an active school campus without disrupting operations
Visualizing significant building additions and interior renovations before any construction began, giving the owner a credible picture of the finished campus
Demonstrating a thorough understanding of the owner's priorities around student safety, meal service continuity, and long-term facility improvement
Differentiating the team in a competitive public procurement process
Each challenge pointed to the same need: a pursuit package built around the owner's priorities, not just the construction scope.

Scope of Work
PRESWERX produced a complete pursuit package for the Westside Middle School project, including a structured proposal, architectural renderings, and construction animations. The proposal was organized to walk a public-sector audience through a multi-phase capital renewal program with clarity, from classroom additions to cafeteria expansion and interior deferred maintenance work. Renderings illustrated the planned building additions and interior improvements at a level of detail that allowed the owner to visualize the finished campus before a shovel hit the ground. Animations brought the construction sequence to life, making complex phasing and logistics accessible to a non-technical audience.

PRESWERX Approach
PRESWERX approached this pursuit as a communication problem. A complex, multi-phase school renovation needed to land clearly with a public school district focused on community outcomes and responsible construction practice.
Developed a proposal that organized the scope around owner priorities: student safety, meal service continuity during construction, and long-term facility improvement
Produced renderings that made the building additions and interior renovations concrete and credible before construction began
Created animations that clarified the construction phasing sequence, demonstrating logistical planning and operational awareness to the owner
The resulting package positioned the client as a strategic, well-prepared partner heading into the selection.
Results Delivered
PRESWERX delivered a complete pursuit package held to the standard of a competitive public-sector procurement, with each deliverable designed to serve a clear purpose for a specific audience.
The proposal translated a complex, multi-phase capital renewal scope into a narrative that non-technical decision-makers could follow with confidence
Renderings made the planned additions and renovations visible and credible before any construction began, giving the owner a concrete vision of the finished campus
Animations turned construction phasing into a clear visual sequence that demonstrated logistical planning depth and operational awareness
The client entered the selection fully prepared, with materials that matched the ambition and scale of the project they were proposing to deliver.
