Project Overview

The Waconia Fire Department pursued a new 29,000-square-foot fire station in Waconia, Minnesota, designed by BKV Group and carrying a project value of $14.5 million. The facility encompassed six apparatus bays, six bunk rooms, two Zoom rooms for communication, a decontamination area, a training room, and a training tower. The project represented a full-scale investment in modern fire service infrastructure for a growing community. The client served as general contractor and needed a pursuit package capable of communicating the station's program and design quality to a municipal owner. PRESWERX partnered with the client's team to develop the visual and presentation assets for the selection.

Client Challenges

The client needed to communicate the scope and character of a purpose-built fire station to a municipal owner with clear operational priorities:

  • Visualizing a complex, multi-program facility, with apparatus bays, bunk rooms, training spaces, and a decontamination area, as a cohesive and functional whole.

  • Demonstrating design quality and spatial intent to a fire department owner evaluating a $14.5 million investment in its operational infrastructure.

  • Preparing the client's team to present a technically detailed project with the confidence and clarity a competitive municipal selection demands.

Together, these challenges required a pursuit package that translated operational specificity into a compelling visual and presentation strategy.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX produced a comprehensive pursuit package for the Waconia Fire Station selection. The team developed architectural renderings that captured the station's exterior character and illustrated the facility's design quality as envisioned by BKV Group. Animations brought the building's program to life, moving through the apparatus bays, bunk rooms, training tower, and support spaces to give the owner a complete picture of the finished facility. PRESWERX also developed the client's presentation materials and delivered direct presentation coaching, preparing the team to deliver a precise, well-rehearsed narrative to the Waconia Fire Department.

PRESWERX Approach

PRESWERX built the pursuit package around the operational identity of the project, ensuring the visuals reflected what a fire station of this scale is built to do.

  • Developed renderings that captured the station's exterior presence and communicated the design quality of a facility purpose-built for modern fire service.

  • Created animations that moved through the building's full program, from the apparatus bays to the training tower, giving the owner a clear spatial understanding of the facility.

  • Coached the client's presenters to deliver a narrative that connected construction expertise to the operational needs of the Waconia Fire Department.

The work positioned the client as a team that understood both how to build the project and what it needed to accomplish.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a full pursuit package built to the standard a municipal fire department selection demands.

  • Renderings gave the Waconia Fire Department a concrete visual reference for the station's exterior and design character before construction began.

  • Animations communicated the building's full program in a dynamic format that brought the training tower, apparatus bays, and support spaces to life in a presentation setting.

  • Presentation coaching gave the client's team the delivery and narrative clarity needed to present a technically detailed, $14.5 million project with confidence.

The client's team entered the selection with a polished visual package and a wellrehearsed story ready to present to the fire department.
