Project Overview

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center undertook a $17.4 million renovation of its Gross Anatomy Lab in Memphis, Tennessee, transforming an existing facility into a state-of-the-art learning environment for the study of human anatomy. The project addressed the evolution of anatomy instruction, integrating advanced technology into the pedagogy while creating a flexible space capable of adapting to ongoing shifts in how medical and health science programs are taught. The client managed the pursuit for this technically complex academic renovation, and PRESWERX provided comprehensive pursuit support including proposal development, presentation design, presentation coaching, renderings, animations, and film production.

Client Challenges

Pursuing a specialized academic facility for a major research university required the client to address several intersecting challenges:

  • Translating a technically complex renovation scope into a clear, compelling narrative for a university selection committee.

  • Visualizing a finished space that did not yet exist, so evaluators could confidently assess design quality and pedagogical intent.

  • Differentiating the team in a competitive field pursuing a prestigious health sciences contract.

  • Preparing a live selection presentation that conveyed both technical rigor and genuine understanding of academic mission.

Together, these challenges demanded a pursuit package that could communicate complex ideas visually, clearly, and with confidence.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX delivered a full suite of pursuit materials tailored to the specialized nature of the Gross Anatomy Lab project. The team developed a comprehensive proposal document that framed the renovation scope and the client's understanding of anatomy education with precision and clarity. Architectural renderings brought the reimagined lab environment to life, showing the integration of technology and flexibility that the university required. Animations provided dynamic walkthroughs of the proposed space, helping evaluators visualize how students and faculty would interact with the facility. A produced film captured the client team's approach and commitment to the project. Presentation design and coaching prepared the client for the live selection event, ensuring the delivery was polished, rehearsed, and aligned with the university's expectations.

PRESWERX Approach

PRESWERX approached this pursuit as a strategic partner invested in how the client's story would land with a university audience. Rather than producing generic pursuit collateral, the team built materials that reflected the specific pedagogical goals of the UTHSC program:

  • Developed narrative and proposal content that connected the client's construction expertise to the academic and instructional goals of the renovation.

  • Produced renderings and animations that made the transformation of the anatomy space tangible, showing flexibility, technology integration, and the feel of a modern learning environment.

  • Coached the client's presentation team through structured rehearsals, refining both content and delivery to match the pace and tone expected in a university selection setting.

The result was a cohesive, well-prepared pursuit that gave the client every advantage going into the selection.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX produced a complete, integrated pursuit package held to the standard required for a major health sciences project at a prominent research university. Each deliverable contributed to the client's ability to compete with clarity and confidence:

  • The proposal and narrative materials articulated the client's qualifications and understanding of anatomy instruction in terms meaningful to a university evaluator.

  • Renderings and animations gave the selection committee a concrete vision of the completed lab, reducing uncertainty and reinforcing the client's design sensibility.

  • Presentation coaching ensured the client's team walked into the interview room prepared, aligned, and composed under pressure.

The client entered the selection process with a pursuit package that reflected the quality of their work and the depth of their commitment to the university's vision.
