Project Overview

The Searcy Community Center was an $80 million civic development for the City of Searcy, Arkansas, encompassing a new 100,000 SF community center, an outdoor aquatics facility, a baseball complex, and improvements to the existing soccer complex. The community center was organized across two wings covering athletics and meeting and education programming, with amenities ranging from three basketball courts and a climbing wall to a cooking lab, maker space, and podcast rooms. The client engaged PRESWERX to develop a polished pursuit presentation and prepare the project team for a competitive public owner selection process.

Client Challenges

The client needed to present a multi-facility civic program to a public owner and communicate both the complexity and community value of the project with clarity. The key challenges included:

  • Conveying the breadth of a 100,000 SF community center alongside aquatics, baseball, and soccer facilities as one unified, compelling story.

  • Demonstrating a genuine understanding of the community-driven programming that shaped the design, from senior activity spaces to a climbing wall and recording studio.

  • Differentiating the team in a competitive public owner selection for a high-profile, $80 million civic investment.

  • Preparing presenters to deliver with confidence across a wide-ranging program that touched multiple facility types and user groups.

Taken together, these challenges required the presentation to do more than list features. It had to communicate the project's community vision as clearly as its scope.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX developed a full pursuit presentation structured around the client's proposal for the Searcy Community Center. The presentation organized a complex multi-facility program, including the 100,000 SF community center, outdoor aquatics facility, baseball complex, and soccer complex improvements, into a narrative that a public owner audience could follow and evaluate. Content was aligned to the City of Searcy's community-driven programming goals, weaving the full range of athletic, educational, and multi-generational spaces into a coherent story. The scope also included presentation coaching to prepare the project team for live delivery in a competitive selection setting.

PRESWERX Approach

PRESWERX treated the scope complexity as the central communication challenge, building materials that organized the project's many components without losing the community narrative behind them:

  • Structured the presentation to mirror the project's two-wing logic, grouping athletic and community and education programming into a story arc that felt purposeful rather than merely comprehensive.

  • Coached the project team to speak fluently to both the programmatic details and the community context that shaped the design.

  • Aligned all presenters around the City of Searcy's stated priorities, including intergenerational programming and civic gathering spaces, so the introduction felt responsive rather than generic.

The result was a team prepared to present a complex civic project with clarity and a clear sense of purpose.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a complete presentation package and a rehearsed project team, calibrated to the expectations of a public owner evaluating an $80 million civic investment:

  • A structured pursuit presentation that communicated the full scope of the community center, aquatics, and sports complex program without overwhelming the audience with facility-by-facility detail.

  • A coaching process that prepared the team to speak confidently to a wideranging program spanning athletics, community education, senior programming, and public gathering spaces.

  • A unified narrative that connected the project's physical scope to the City of Searcy's community goals, giving the team a coherent story to carry into the selection.

The client's team entered the selection fully prepared to represent a major civic investment with the clarity and professionalism the scope deserved.
