Project Overview
The Saint Louis Zoo undertook development of a new $26 million family exhibit in St. Louis, Missouri, designed to create an immersive experience for children ages two to ten and their families. The project encompassed a multi-story wildlife educational facility alongside animal exhibit spaces integrating specialized systems such as animal life support, thematic shotcrete features, and interactive technology including projection mapping and virtual reality. Given the scope's technical complexity and the need to convey a deeply emotional, family centered vision, the client required a partner capable of translating an ambitious design narrative into a compelling pursuit package. PRESWERX supported the pursuit through proposal development, renderings, animation, and film production.

Client Challenges
Competing for the Saint Louis Zoo's flagship family exhibit demanded more than technical credentials, it required a way to make an emotionally driven design vision tangible to evaluators:
Translating a complex, multidisciplinary scope, spanning animal habitats, education spaces, and specialty systems, into one cohesive narrative
Visualizing an experience built around child development and emotional connection with animals before a single wall was built
Differentiating the team in a bid centered on specialized zoo and exhibit design experience
Preparing proposal materials that captured both technical rigor and the exhibit's human centered mission
These challenges called for visual storytelling as much as technical description.

Scope of Work
PRESWERX produced a full pursuit package for the client's response to the Saint Louis Zoo project, beginning with proposal development that organized the multidisciplinary scope, animal exhibit design, life support systems, thematic shotcrete work, and technology integration, into a clear, evaluator ready narrative. The team created photorealistic renderings depicting the new family exhibit's play spaces, animal habitats, and educational facility, giving reviewers a tangible sense of the finished environment. Animation sequences brought key visitor experiences to life, while film production captured the project's vision and the team's qualifications in a format suited for a live selection presentation.

PRESWERX Approach
With a project built around emotional connection and childhood wonder, PRESWERX focused the pursuit strategy on visual storytelling that matched the exhibit's intent:
Developed renderings that emphasized the exhibit's immersive, family focused design rather than technical specifications alone
Produced animation sequences illustrating how visitors would move through and experience the space
Structured the proposal narrative to connect the client's technical capabilities directly to the Zoo's stated developmental and educational goals
The result was a pursuit package that presented the client as a team fluent in both construction and storytelling.
Results Delivered
PRESWERX delivered a complete visual and written pursuit package held to the standard required for a highly specialized, mission driven procurement:
The proposal document gave evaluators a clear, organized view of a scope spanning a dozen specialty disciplines
Renderings and animation translated an emotionally driven design concept into tangible, reviewable visuals
Film production provided the client with a polished asset for use in interview and selection settings
Going into the selection, the client's team was equipped with a pursuit package that matched the ambition of the Saint Louis Zoo's vision.
