Project Overview

The Rays Ballpark represented one of the most consequential sports infrastructure pursuits in Florida history. Planned for a 113-acre site in Tampa, the project called for a 31,000-seat Major League Baseball stadium and a sweeping mixed-use development, together valued at approximately $2.3 billion. The program required a precise, unified story capable of earning confidence from a diverse panel of public and private stakeholders navigating a complex financing structure. With the future of a major league franchise and significant public investment on the line, the client engaged PRESWERX to develop and deliver the full suite of pursuit materials.

Client Challenges

The pursuit placed the client in a high-visibility, competitive environment with a complex scope and a broad audience of decision-makers to convince:

  • Communicating the scale of a $2.3 billion mixed-use stadium development as one cohesive, accessible story for both public officials and private stakeholders

  • Differentiating the team in a competitive selection environment where the stakes were high and the expectations were equally so

  • Visualizing an unbuilt venue in a way that translated architectural ambition into concrete confidence for decision-makers who needed to see the finished experience before approving it

  • Preparing the team to deliver a sharp, authoritative live presentation under the scrutiny of a high-profile public selection

Each of these challenges demanded pursuit materials that worked at the strategic, visual, and human level simultaneously.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX delivered a fully integrated pursuit package built around the scope and visibility of the Rays Ballpark project. A comprehensive proposal document was produced to communicate the client's qualifications, approach, and differentiators to a mixed audience of public officials and private stakeholders. Custom renderings captured the design quality and character of the ballpark at a level appropriate for a marquee sports venue. Animations and films brought the stadium experience to life in motion, conveying what static imagery alone could not. A complete presentation package was developed for the live selection, and PRESWERX provided direct coaching to sharpen the team's delivery.

PRESWERX Approach

PRESWERX treated the Rays Ballpark pursuit as a unified narrative challenge. Every deliverable was built around a single, consistent story of what this project would mean for Tampa.

  • The proposal was organized to surface the client's strongest differentiators first, translating complex scope into a clear and persuasive written case for selection

  • Renderings, animations, and films were calibrated to the visual ambition of a major league ballpark, giving stakeholders a vivid and credible picture of the finished venue

  • Presentation coaching sessions prepared the client's team to deliver with precision and confidence, ensuring that the live presentation matched the quality of the materials behind it

Every asset reinforced the same story, and the client entered the selection room with a pursuit package worthy of the project.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a complete, production-ready pursuit package held to the standard that a project of this scale demanded.

  • The proposal gave the client a polished, well-structured written case that communicated scope, qualifications, and approach without losing the reader

  • Custom renderings, animations, and films produced a visual story that brought the ballpark experience to life before a single shovel entered the ground, giving decision-makers something to believe in

  • Presentation coaching ensured the client's team walked into the selection room with a practiced, confident delivery fully aligned to the materials

The client entered the selection process as prepared as any team competing for a pursuit of this magnitude.
