Project Overview
The Ray Roberts project was a $195.8 million water treatment plant expansion in Denton, Texas, commissioned by the City of Denton Water Utilities. The Ray Roberts Water Treatment Plant, originally constructed in 2002 with a 20 million gallon per day (MGD) capacity, required expansion to meet the city's continued residential, commercial, and industrial growth. The project called for design and construction of a parallel membrane process train to bring initial capacity to 40 MGD, with the facility designed for full build-out to 50 MGD. The client engaged PRESWERX to support the pursuit with a presentation, presentation coaching, renderings, and animations.
Client Challenges
The client was pursuing one of the largest water infrastructure contracts in the region, competing for a technically complex, high-value project with significant public accountability. The pursuit presented several distinct challenges:
Communicating a highly technical membrane treatment expansion to a municipal utility owner evaluating contractors on both technical merit and execution confidence.
Visualizing a large-scale industrial water treatment facility to help the owner understand the scope and scale of the proposed expansion.
Differentiating the team in a competitive selection for a nearly $200 million infrastructure project with long-term implications for the city's water supply.
Preparing presenters to deliver a technically dense project narrative clearly and confidently in a live municipal interview.
These demands called for materials that could make a complex infrastructure investment feel both credible and well-planned.
Scope of Work
PRESWERX built the selection presentation and provided coaching to prepare the client's team for the City of Denton interview. Renderings visualized the proposed membrane building and expanded treatment facility at scale, giving the review panel a clear picture of how the new process train would integrate with the existing plant. Animations illustrated the membrane treatment process and the phased build-out approach, communicating the technical logic of the expansion in a format accessible to a municipal audience. Coaching prepared the team's speakers to present a technically demanding scope with confidence and precision in front of a city utility panel
