Project Overview
The Mann Hall Renovation at North Carolina State University's main campus in Raleigh, North Carolina, encompassed a complete interior abatement and demolition of an existing academic building, followed by construction of reprogrammed classrooms, academic and study spaces, fourth floor laboratories, and a dedicated E-Sports arena. The $36 million project required a new mechanical penthouse to serve the labs, an additional elevator shaft alongside replacement of an existing cab, upgraded electrical and mechanical infrastructure including a new transformer, and new fiber connectivity to support the E-Sports program. Given the scope's technical complexity, the client needed a pursuit partner capable of translating an intricate renovation into a clear, compelling story. PRESWERX supported the pursuit with proposal development, presentation design, presentation coaching, architectural renderings, and animation.

Client Challenges
Mann Hall's renovation packed extensive infrastructure upgrades and program changes into a single, technically dense scope. The client's team faced key hurdles heading into the selection process:
Explaining a multi-phase abatement, demolition, and construction sequence in one cohesive narrative
Helping evaluators visualize new spaces, including the E-Sports arena, before construction began
Standing out in a competitive field pursuing a high-profile university project
Preparing the team to speak confidently about complex mechanical and electrical scope in an interview setting
Together, these challenges called for a pursuit strategy that made complexity feel manageable and the client's expertise evident.

Scope of Work
PRESWERX developed a full proposal package for the Mann Hall pursuit, structuring the technical narrative around the project's phased abatement, demolition, and reconstruction sequence so evaluators could follow the plan step by step. The team produced architectural renderings depicting the reprogrammed classrooms, fourth floor laboratories, and E-Sports arena, giving the selection committee a clear picture of the finished spaces. Animations illustrated how new mechanical, electrical, and elevator systems would integrate into the existing building without disrupting campus operations. PRESWERX also built the client's interview presentation and provided coaching sessions to prepare the team's key speakers for a confident, cohesive delivery.

PRESWERX Approach
PRESWERX approached the Mann Hall pursuit as a technical storytelling challenge, translating dense infrastructure scope into a narrative any evaluator could follow. The team:
Broke the renovation sequence into clear phases within the proposal to simplify a complex scope
Created renderings and animations that visualized new labs, the E-Sports arena, and behind the scenes infrastructure upgrades
Ran coaching sessions focused on tightening delivery and reinforcing the team's command of technical details
This approach positioned the client as a team that understood the building inside and out
Results Delivered
PRESWERX delivered a complete proposal and presentation package built to withstand close scrutiny from a technically sophisticated evaluation panel. The work included:
A proposal narrative that made a multi-system renovation easy to follow from start to finish
Renderings and animations that brought reprogrammed academic spaces and the E-Sports arena to life before construction
A coached interview presentation that let the team speak fluently about complex mechanical, electrical, and structural scope
The client's team entered the selection process with a clear, confident story and materials built to match the scale of the project.
