Project Overview

One of the most ambitious healthcare construction pursuits in the country, this $3 billion project called for a new academic medical center on a 40-acre campus in Garden City, New York, replacing constrained and aging facilities in Mineola. The masterplan envisioned 30 years of phased development, with a replacement hospital as the first priority: 850 all-private inpatient beds, an integrated surgical and procedural platform, a dedicated Mother-Baby program, an expanded Emergency Department, and a central utility plant built for long-term resiliency. The client engaged PRESWERX to produce renderings and animations that would give the selection committee a vivid, credible picture of what this transformative campus could become.

Client Challenges

Communicating a 30-year, multi-phase vision to evaluators is inherently difficult. The client faced a set of compounding challenges specific to the pursuit:

  • Conveying the full scope and ambition of a 40-acre, multi-decade masterplan without overwhelming evaluators with complexity.

  • Visualizing a first-phase hospital that did not yet exist, including highly specialized clinical environments such as surgical suites, an expanded Emergency Department, and a Mother-Baby unit.

  • Differentiating the team in an extraordinarily high-stakes competition where visual quality and narrative clarity would directly influence evaluator confidence.

The pursuit demanded imagery and storytelling that matched the scale and sophistication of the project itself.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX produced architectural renderings and animations designed specifically to support the client's pursuit of this landmark healthcare project. The renderings depicted both the broader campus masterplan and key programmatic elements of the initial hospital phase, including patient floors, clinical platforms, and exterior massing on the Garden City site. Animations provided a dynamic walkthrough of the proposed facility, helping evaluators move through the project spatially and understand how the building would function as a working medical center from opening day. Every visual was crafted to reinforce the client's credibility as a team capable of delivering one of the most complex hospital projects in the region.

PRESWERX Approach

PRESWERX treated this pursuit as a visual strategy challenge at the scale of the project itself. The approach centered on building evaluator trust through precision and clarity:

  • Developed renderings that balanced masterplan ambition with phase-one specificity, giving evaluators both the long view and the detail needed to assess the first phase of construction.

  • Produced animations that moved through the facility with clinical purpose, highlighting programmatic areas most critical to the owner's stated goals.

  • Calibrated visual tone and detail to the expectations of a sophisticated healthcare owner, ensuring the imagery felt grounded in operational reality rather than generic architectural aspiration.

The deliverables gave the client a visual package commensurate with the significance of the opportunity.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a pursuit-ready visual package held to the standard of a $3 billion healthcare competition. Each deliverable addressed a specific evaluator need:

  • Renderings translated a complex, multi-phase masterplan into imagery that was immediately legible, giving evaluators a confident picture of both the campus vision and the first phase of work.

  • Animations brought the hospital to life in motion, allowing evaluators to experience the scale, flow, and clinical character of the facility before a single column was placed.

  • Together, the visuals elevated the client's submission to the level of visual sophistication the project demanded, reinforcing the team's credibility on one of the most consequential healthcare procurements in the region.

The client entered the selection process with pursuit materials that reflected the full weight of the opportunity.
