Project Overview
The Historic Miramar Drainage Infrastructure Improvements Project was a $16,000,000 infrastructure initiative commissioned by the City of Miramar to upgrade aging drainage systems throughout the city’s historic district. The project addressed chronic flooding conditions and supported the City’s broader goal of improving service levels for residents in the affected area. The client pursued the work in a competitive selection environment, presenting a technically dense infrastructure scope to a municipal owner with clear community improvement priorities. PRESWERX supported the pursuit by developing the selection presentation and providing coaching to prepare the client’s team for the interview.

Client Challenges
Infrastructure drainage projects present a specific communication challenge: translating technical complexity into a story a municipal owner can evaluate with confidence. The client faced three compounding pressures:
Communicating a layered drainage scope, including flooding mitigation and community service improvements, as an accessible narrative for a City audience
Standing out in a competitive pursuit environment with a differentiated team story
Preparing the presenting team to deliver with clarity and cohesion in a live selection interview
All three required the pursuit materials and team delivery to reinforce each other

Scope of Work
PRESWERX developed a pursuit presentation and delivered targeted coaching to prepare the client’s team for the City of Miramar’s selection process. The presentation organized the project’s drainage improvement goals, the client’s technical approach to flooding mitigation, and the team’s qualifications into a format designed for a municipal audience. Coaching sessions addressed delivery, message consistency, and preparation for likely questions from the selection panel. Each component was built around the specific program, the owner’s stated priorities, and the competitive context, so the client’s story was grounded in the particulars of this pursuit, not generic talking points.

PRESWERX Approach
PRESWERX approached the engagement as a pursuit strategy partner, anchoring both the materials and coaching plan to what the City of Miramar needed to hear.
Structured the presentation around the City’s flooding mitigation and community service goals
Translated complex drainage content into clear, owner-focused language accessible to a non-technical audience
Coached the team on delivery, message consistency, and anticipated panel questions
The client entered the selection with a focused narrative and the rehearsal to deliver it confidently.
Results Delivered
PRESWERX delivered a polished pursuit presentation and coaching program calibrated to the standards of a competitive municipal selection. The output was measured against one benchmark: how prepared the client would be in the room.
The presentation framed a complex drainage scope as a clear, communityfocused story aligned to the City’s priorities
Coaching provided structured practice and direct feedback, building delivery confidence across the presenting team
The client entered the selection with materials and a message that accurately reflected the strength of their work
They went in prepared, polished, and ready to make a strong case.
