Project Overview

The Miami International Airport South Terminal Expansion was a $551 million airport infrastructure project in Miami, Florida, commissioned by Miami-Dade County. The design-build project expanded the South Terminal with six new domestic narrowbody aircraft gates and apron improvements, alongside additional post-security concessions space to enhance the passenger experience. As one of the busiest airports in the country, Miami International demanded a construction team with the scale, coordination capability, and aviation-sector experience to deliver a complex, active-airfield expansion. The client engaged PRESWERX to support the pursuit with a presentation, presentation coaching, renderings, and animations.

Client Challenges

The client was pursuing a half-billion-dollar design-build airport expansion at one of the nation's busiest international airports. The pursuit carried significant demands:

  • Communicating a comprehensive design-build approach to Miami-Dade County for a complex active-airfield expansion requiring gate construction, apron work, and terminal concessions improvements simultaneously.

  • Visualizing the expanded South Terminal, including new gate facilities, apron configuration, and passenger concessions areas, in a way that gave county reviewers a clear picture of the finished project.

  • Differentiating the construction team in a competitive design-build selection for a $551 million project with high operational, logistical, and regulatory complexity.

  • Preparing presenters to deliver a technically sophisticated aviation pursuit with the authority and precision Miami-Dade County expects.

The materials needed to convey a construction partner with the organizational depth to manage a live airport expansion of this magnitude.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX built the selection presentation and provided coaching to prepare the client's team for the Miami-Dade County interview. Renderings visualized the expanded South Terminal's new gate facilities, apron improvements, and post-security concessions spaces, giving reviewers a photorealistic view of the finished expansion. Animations illustrated the construction phasing and the operational logic of expanding an active terminal, communicating how the work would be sequenced to minimize disruption at one of the country's busiest airports. Coaching prepared the team's speakers to present a high-complexity aviation scope with the confidence and precision the county's selection process demanded.

PRESWERX Approach

PRESWERX recognized that a Miami International Airport pursuit requires materials calibrated for a county aviation authority evaluating a construction partner for one of the world's most active air travel hubs.

  • Developed renderings and animations that communicated both the physical scope of the gate and apron expansion and the passenger experience improvements the new concessions space would deliver.

  • Built the presentation to address the dual demands of the design-build approach: technical execution of a complex airfield expansion and the design quality expected of a major international terminal.

  • Coached presenters to demonstrate command of the project's complexity and the coordination demands of building in an active aviation environment.

The result was a presentation built to earn confidence at the scale and complexity MIA demands.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a complete pursuit package built for a $551 million design-build airport selection at one of the country's most complex aviation facilities. Each deliverable was calibrated for an owner that expects precision, scale, and operational sophistication.

  • Renderings gave Miami-Dade County's review team a photorealistic view of the expanded South Terminal, covering the new gate facilities, apron layout, and enhanced concessions areas.

  • Animations communicated the construction phasing and active-airfield coordination strategy in a clear, accessible format suited to a complex public procurement review.

  • Coaching prepared the team to present a technically demanding aviation scope with the authority the county required.

The client walked into the selection fully prepared to make a credible, high-caliber case for one of Florida's most significant airport investments.
