Project Overview

Mercy Health pursued construction of a new $550 million, 75-bed hospital on its Wentzville, Missouri property at the intersection of Highways 70 and 64, serving a rapidly growing region west of St. Louis. The approximately 400,000 BGSF facility was designed to include inpatient and clinical outpatient services, a central utility plant, and full site development. The project represented a major expansion of Mercy's regional footprint and a significant investment in healthcare access for the Wentzville community. The client engaged PRESWERX to produce renderings, animations, and a presentation, and to prepare the team through coaching for the live selection interview.

Client Challenges

Competing for a half-billion-dollar hospital project with a sophisticated healthcare system owner required the client to address challenges that spanned visual communication, technical credibility, and live interview performance:

  • Visualizing a 400,000 SF hospital on a greenfield site, giving a healthcare owner with high design standards a compelling picture of what the finished facility would look like on the Wentzville property.

  • Communicating the team's capacity to manage a complex, large-scale hospital delivery, including inpatient, outpatient, and utility plant components, as a single integrated program.

  • Preparing the team for a live interview with a healthcare system owner that expected depth, alignment, and confidence from every presenter at the table.

The pursuit demanded a complete package capable of earning trust from one of the region's most prominent healthcare owners.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX produced renderings, animations, and a structured presentation, then ran coaching sessions with the client's team ahead of the live selection event. Renderings depicted the hospital exterior in context on the Wentzville site, capturing the facility's scale and its relationship to the surrounding roadway infrastructure. Animations brought the project to life in motion, conveying the building's clinical character and how the inpatient and outpatient components would function together as a cohesive medical campus. The presentation organized the team's hospital construction experience and delivery approach around Mercy's stated project priorities. Coaching sessions then refined each presenter's delivery and prepared the full team for the question formats and depth of scrutiny typical of a major healthcare system interview.

PRESWERX Approach

PRESWERX recognized that Mercy's evaluation of a construction partner would hinge on both the quality of the visuals and the team's ability to speak to large-scale hospital delivery with authority. The approach integrated all four services around a single pursuit narrative:

  • Produced renderings and animations calibrated to a healthcare owner's expectations, depicting the hospital with the clinical specificity and design quality that Mercy's standard required.

  • Built a presentation structured around Mercy's program priorities, moving evaluators from the team's hospital construction track record directly into their approach for the Wentzville project.

  • Ran coaching sessions designed for a high-stakes healthcare interview, preparing each team member to respond with precision and ensuring the group presented as a cohesive, confident delivery partner.

Every element of the pursuit package was built to reflect the scale and significance of a $550 million community hospital.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a complete pursuit package built to the standard of a major regional hospital competition. Each deliverable contributed a distinct advantage heading into the selection:

  • Renderings and animations that gave Mercy's evaluators a high-quality visual picture of the proposed facility, grounding the team's hospital credentials in a tangible representation of the Wentzville project.

  • A structured presentation that connected the team's large-scale healthcare experience directly to Mercy's program, making the client's case efficiently and persuasively.

  • A coached team that entered the selection room prepared to perform at the level a $550 million healthcare owner expects from a serious contender.

The client entered the selection process with a pursuit package that matched the ambition of the project and the expectations of the owner.
