Project Overview

The Iredell Health Vertical Expansion added a new floor above the existing Emergency Department at Iredell Memorial Hospital, directly adjacent to the hospital's Critical Care Unit. The project delivered thirteen new CCU beds through vertical construction and renovated eleven existing CCU beds, producing a net gain of eight beds along with the associated site work needed to support the expanded department. Because construction took place above and beside a fully operational hospital, the pursuit team needed to show a clear command of sequencing and patient safety. PRESWERX developed the pursuit presentation, renderings, animations, and film content, and coached the team for its final interview.

Client Challenges

Expanding critical care space directly above and beside an active Emergency Department raised concerns a presentation had to answer directly:

  • Demonstrating how new construction above an occupied Emergency Department would proceed without disrupting patient care.

  • Showing the hospital board a clear picture of a finished department that did not yet exist.

  • Explaining a phased scope, thirteen new beds and eleven renovated beds, as one coherent net gain story.

Addressing each concern directly was necessary to earn the confidence of a hospital owner evaluating work on its own occupied campus.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX produced the full pursuit presentation, translating the vertical expansion and CCU renovation into a single visual narrative for the interview. The team built photorealistic renderings of the completed thirteen bed expansion and eleven bed renovation, along with animations sequencing construction above the occupied Emergency Department, and a short film highlighting the approach to patient safety during construction. PRESWERX then ran the presentation team through structured coaching sessions, refining delivery and preparing responses to the technical and safety questions the panel was likely to raise.

PRESWERX Approach

With construction planned directly above and beside active patient care, the presentation needed to build confidence in both the design and the process:

  • Produced renderings and animations that showed the finished CCU expansion and the construction sequencing above it.

  • Created a film focused on how the work would proceed safely around an operating Emergency Department.

  • Coached the team through multiple rehearsals to sharpen responses to safety and sequencing questions.

The approach gave the team visual proof points to support every claim made in the room.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a full visual and presentation package built to the standard a hospital owner would expect for work on its own campus:

  • Renderings and animations that gave the panel a clear, finished picture of the thirteen bed expansion and eleven bed renovation.

  • A film that addressed patient safety and construction sequencing before the panel could raise it.

  • A rehearsed, confident team ready to answer detailed technical questions in the final interview.

The client's team walked into the interview with a complete, well rehearsed case for the project.
