Project Overview

Hilliard City School District Board of Education undertook a sweeping, district-wide capital program valued at more than $116 million. The initiative encompassed the construction of three new elementary schools, a new preschool facility, the demolition of two aging campuses, the conversion of an existing elementary school into a dedicated sixth-grade building, and a weight room renovation at Darby High School. Districtwide upgrades to playgrounds, security systems, athletic facilities, and performing arts spaces rounded out the full program. To compete for the construction manager at-risk contract, the client turned to PRESWERX for proposal development, presentation design, and presentation coaching.

Client Challenges

Pursuing a multi-site, $116 million program required the client to communicate both scale and nuance. The team faced several interconnected challenges:

  • Telling a coherent story across a program spanning demolitions, new construction, renovations, and districtwide improvements at a single time.

  • Demonstrating the capacity and coordination required to manage multiple simultaneous school projects for a single district owner.

  • Connecting with a school district audience whose priorities centered on community impact and student outcomes, not construction logistics.

  • Preparing presenters to deliver a confident, well-rehearsed performance in a formal selection environment.

Together, these challenges demanded a pursuit strategy that was disciplined, owner-focused, and visually compelling from page one.

PRESWERX Approach

PRESWERX approached this pursuit as a strategic narrative challenge: the program was large enough to impress, but only if the story was told in a way the district's decision-makers could follow. The team built every deliverable around the owner's perspective.

  • Structured the proposal around district priorities and community impact, framing each facility within the broader transformation the program represented for Hilliard families.

  • Designed the presentation to make program scope immediately legible, using visual hierarchy and site-specific organization to prevent audience overload.

  • Coached the presenting team on message focus, panel engagement, and how to handle scope-related questions without losing the thread of the central narrative.

The result was a pursuit package that matched the ambition of the program itself.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX produced a proposal and presentation package held to the standard of a $116 million pursuit: clear, owner-centered, and built to stand out in a competitive field.

  • The proposal gave the selection panel a single, coherent narrative across a multi-site, multi-phase program, making the client's capacity as legible as its qualifications.

  • The presentation organized complex program information visually, ensuring that board members and district administrators could follow the scope and the client's approach without relying on construction expertise.

  • Presentation coaching sharpened the team's delivery, giving presenters the tools to stay on message under pressure and respond to panel questions with clarity and confidence.

The client went into the selection fully prepared, with a pursuit package that reflected the scale and significance of the Hilliard City Schools program.
