Project Overview

The $3,100,000 Gravity Pipe Improvements to the Downtown Collection System replaced approximately 2,120 linear feet of undersized gravity sewer pipes in Fort Lauderdale's East Las Olas neighborhood. Driven by the City's Comprehensive Utility Strategic Master Plan, the project upsized existing 12, 14, and 15-inch diameter gravity sewer pipes to accommodate projected future flows and address long-term capacity constraints within the downtown collection system. The work focused on a critical underground corridor serving one of Fort Lauderdale's most active districts. The client engaged PRESWERX to develop a pursuit presentation, presentation coaching, renderings, and animations for the selection interview.

Client Challenges

Pursuing a $3,100,000 underground utility improvement in a dense, active urban neighborhood required the client to present technically complex subsurface work to a municipal owner:

  • Communicating the technical scope of replacing and upsizing 2,120 linear feet of gravity sewer pipe in a congested urban corridor without the benefit of visible construction progress.

  • Translating a master plan-driven capacity improvement into a compelling narrative for a municipal owner whose evaluation extended beyond cost to include team capability and community impact.

  • Differentiating the team for a city procurement requiring confidence in the contractor's ability to execute underground work with minimal disruption to the East Las Olas district.

The client needed a presentation that made the invisible complexity of the work legible to the selection panel.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX developed the full pursuit package for the Gravity Pipe Improvements to the Downtown Collection System, combining a tailored presentation, coaching, custom renderings, and animations into a cohesive submission. The presentation built a narrative around the project's master plan context, connecting the capacity upgrade to the City of Fort Lauderdale's long-term infrastructure vision for the downtown collection system. Renderings and animations made the underground scope visible and comprehensible to the selection audience, while coaching sessions prepared the client's presenters to deliver the technical material with clarity and confidence in front of the city's evaluation team.

PRESWERX Approach

PRESWERX approached the pursuit around a core challenge: making underground infrastructure work compelling to a municipal owner. The team addressed three priorities:

  • Framing the pipe replacement as a strategic investment tied directly to the City's Comprehensive Utility Strategic Master Plan, giving the project policy weight and long-term relevance.

  • Producing renderings and animations that visualized the subsurface scope, helping the selection panel understand what 2,120 linear feet of gravity sewer improvement looks like below street level.

  • Coaching presenters to deliver technical content with clarity to a city audience evaluating both capability and community sensitivity.

The result was a client team ready to present underground work at street level.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a complete pursuit package calibrated to the demands of a city utility procurement:

  • The presentation connected the gravity pipe replacement to the City's master plan framework, giving the owner a clear policy rationale alongside the technical scope.

  • Renderings and animations gave the selection panel a concrete visual of the underground improvement, removing ambiguity from a scope that is inherently out of sight.

  • Coaching sessions produced a client team that delivered the technical material with confidence and fluency before the City of Fort Lauderdale's evaluation panel.

The team entered the room equipped to make the invisible work visible.
