Project Overview

The Fred Hutch Precision Oncology Institute represented a landmark new construction effort for one of the world's premier cancer research institutions. Planned for Site F of the Fred Hutch Cancer Center's South Lake Union Campus in Seattle, Washington, the facility was designed to encompass approximately 600,000 gross square feet of wet and dry research laboratories, core labs, specialty spaces, underground parking, and building connections below the water table. The program also included shared outdoor space, dining facilities, flexible workspace, and continuing education areas. The client engaged PRESWERX to support the full pursuit through proposal development, presentation strategy, renderings, animations, and film production.

Client Challenges

The client faced significant complexity in bringing a 600,000 SF research campus to life within a competitive pursuit environment:

  • Communicating a large and technically complex program as a single, coherent vision for both scientific and non-technical evaluators

  • Visualizing the quality and character of research spaces that did not yet exist in physical form

  • Preparing a multi-format submission covering a written proposal, a live presentation, and audiovisual materials under a demanding timeline

  • Coaching the presentation team to deliver a unified message with confidence and clarity

Each challenge demanded a coordinated pursuit strategy that addressed content, visuals, and performance together.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX developed a full pursuit package for the Fred Hutch Precision Oncology Institute engagement. The team produced a written proposal tailored to the Fred Hutch Cancer Center's research mission and technical program requirements. Architectural renderings brought the planned facility to life visually, illustrating the building's scale, materiality, and relationship to the existing campus. Animations captured the flow of laboratory spaces and the building's integration with the South Lake Union waterfront. A pursuit film tied the full narrative together, presenting the client's team as a cohesive, mission-aligned partner for this landmark project. Presentation coaching sessions prepared the team for the live interview.

PRESWERX Approach

PRESWERX treated the Fred Hutch pursuit as a storytelling challenge: the technical complexity of the program had to be expressed as a clear and compelling vision. The team worked across multiple formats to ensure consistency and impact at every stage of the selection process.

  • Developed a written proposal narrative that connected the client's technical qualifications to Fred Hutch Cancer Center's research mission and long-term campus growth strategy

  • Created architectural renderings and animations that translated a 600,000 SF program into an intuitive visual story accessible to all evaluators

  • Produced a pursuit film and delivered targeted presentation coaching to align the client's team on messaging, delivery, and confidence

Every deliverable was calibrated to build evaluator confidence in the client's ability to lead a project of this scale and complexity.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a complete pursuit package covering proposal, presentation, renderings, animations, and film at a quality level consistent with the project's significance. Each deliverable served a distinct purpose in the selection process.

  • The written proposal provided a rigorous and compelling narrative that articulated the client's qualifications against Fred Hutch Cancer Center's complex technical requirements

  • Architectural renderings and animations gave evaluators a clear picture of how the facility would look and function long before ground was broken

  • A polished pursuit film and tailored presentation coaching ensured the client's team stepped into the interview prepared, unified, and confident

The client entered the selection process with a pursuit package that matched the ambition and scale of one of Seattle's most significant research projects.
