Project Overview

The Community Park at Fair Park was a $39 million transformation of one of Dallas, Texas's most storied civic spaces, converting the park's largest surface parking lot into a vibrant public green space. The centerpiece of Phase I in the 2020 Fair Park Master Plan Update, the project was shaped by extensive community input and designed to make Fair Park more inclusive and accessible to surrounding neighborhoods. Planned amenities included a community stage, interactive water features, multiple playgrounds, a fitness loop, native gardens, shaded picnic areas, and a dog park. PRESWERX produced renderings and animations to support the client's pursuit of this landmark civic project.

Client Challenges

The Fair Park Community Park had a strong community story. Communicating it visually for a competitive pursuit required a deliberate approach:

  • Converting a surface parking lot into a welcoming green space required imagery that made the future park feel real and inviting before a single shovel broke ground.

  • A project shaped by community input had to look the part: accessible, diverse, and reflective of the surrounding neighborhoods.

  • Multiple programmed zones, a stage, water features, playgrounds, and a fitness loop had to read as one cohesive park experience.

The visuals had to make the community's vision feel inevitable.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX produced renderings and animations capturing the full character of the proposed Community Park at Fair Park. Renderings depicted the park's key programmed areas, from the community stage and interactive water features to native gardens, playgrounds, shaded picnic areas, and the dog park, giving reviewers a vivid sense of how each space would feel at ground level. Animations showed how visitors would move through the site and experience its different zones. Together, the assets translated a community-driven design into a visual story the City of Dallas could embrace.

PRESWERX Approach

PRESWERX approached this pursuit as a community storytelling challenge, not just an architectural visualization exercise.

  • Renderings conveyed warmth and activation, showing the park populated with the kinds of visitors the design was built for.

  • Each programmed zone got its own visual moment, giving the panel a distinct feel for every major amenity.

  • Animations were sequenced to reflect how a visitor would move through and experience the site, reinforcing its accessibility and flow.

The result was a visual package that made the community's vision feel real and worth investing in.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a visual package that matched the ambition of a $39 million civic transformation.

  • Renderings gave reviewers a ground-level sense of how each park amenity would look and feel, from the community stage to the dog park.

  • Animations made the site's flow and activation legible, showing the park as a living, populated space rather than a plan on paper.

  • The combined assets gave the client a compelling visual story built around the community's own vision for Fair Park.

The client entered the pursuit with imagery as strong as the project itself.
