Project Overview

Okaloosa County undertook a Terminal Area Study and Terminal Area Plan Update for the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport, located at Eglin AFB in Florida. The study served as a long-range planning tool to guide future airport development, evaluating existing capacity and demand to identify the timing and sequencing of facility improvements. The work needed to balance environmental considerations, financial policies, and the operational needs of a growing regional aviation market. The client served as contractor and required compelling visual content to support the pursuit. PRESWERX produced the renderings and animations that anchored the client's visual submission.

Client Challenges

The client needed to communicate a technical, long-range planning study to an airport authority owner in a way that translated infrastructure analysis into a compelling visual proposal:

  • Visualizing future airport development scenarios and terminal area configurations for an owner evaluating a complex, multi-phase planning engagement.

  • Translating a capacity-demand analysis into visual content that made abstract planning concepts legible to local officials and airport staff.

  • Differentiating the client in a competitive field for a planning pursuit with significant long-term implications for a regional aviation facility.

Together, these challenges required visuals that could bridge the gap between technical planning content and a clear, persuasive pursuit narrative.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX produced architectural renderings and animations for the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport Ramp Study pursuit. The renderings illustrated proposed terminal area configurations and ramp development scenarios, giving the owner a visual reference for the study's planning recommendations. The animations conveyed the sequencing and scale of future airport development in a format suited for a presentation to county officials and airport staff. Together, the deliverables translated a complex capacity-demand study into visual content that supported the client's submission and gave the owner a clear picture of what future development would look like on the ground.

PRESWERX Approach

PRESWERX framed the visual work around the owner's planning perspective, translating a technical ramp study into imagery that communicated development intent clearly to a non-technical audience.

  • Developed renderings that illustrated proposed terminal area configurations and ramp layouts within the context of the existing airport facility.

  • Produced animations to convey the sequencing and scope of future development phases in a format appropriate for a county-level planning presentation.

  • Calibrated the visual language to reflect the operational and environmental considerations specific to a regional aviation facility.

The result was a visual package that made a technical planning study accessible and persuasive to the owner.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a visual package that elevated the client's ramp study submission and gave the owner a clear picture of proposed airport development.

  • Renderings provided Okaloosa County and airport staff with a concrete visual reference for proposed terminal area and ramp configurations.

  • Animations communicated the timing and sequencing of development phases in a dynamic format suited for a planning presentation.

  • The combined visual package gave the client a professional, polished submission that matched the long-range significance of the study.

The client's team entered the selection with visuals that brought technical planning content to life for a non-technical audience.
