Project Overview

The Austin-Bergstrom International Airport Concourse B and Tunnel project represented one of the most significant aviation infrastructure undertakings in Central Texas. Valued at over $1 billion, the project encompassed the construction of a new midfield concourse with 20 airline gates and an underground tunnel connecting to the existing Barbara Jordan Terminal. The scope also included provisions for additional gate capacity and a potential remote hold room facility to support early construction phasing. PRESWERX supported the pursuit through proposal development, presentation design, presentation coaching, and the production of renderings and animations.

Client Challenges

The client faced the task of communicating the scope and vision of a billion-dollar, multi-phased airport expansion to a technically sophisticated selection committee:

  • Translating a complex, multi-element program (new concourse, underground tunnel, and potential add-alternates) into a single, cohesive narrative

  • Differentiating the team's approach in a highly competitive, high-visibility public procurement

  • Visualizing construction phasing and finished-quality spaces before a single shovel hit the ground

  • Preparing the team to deliver a confident, polished live selection presentation

Together, these challenges demanded a pursuit strategy that was both strategically sharp and visually compelling.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX developed a comprehensive pursuit package tailored to the complexity and public visibility of the project. Proposal content was crafted to organize a multi-element scope into a clear, client-centered narrative that addressed the owner's program goals directly. Custom renderings and animations brought the future concourse and tunnel to life, giving the selection committee a concrete sense of design quality and passenger experience before construction began. A purpose-built interview presentation was designed to guide the team through the live selection, and presentation coaching sessions prepared key team members to deliver each section with clarity and conviction.

PRESWERX Approach

PRESWERX approached the pursuit as a unified story challenge, building every deliverable around the client's ability to communicate complexity with clarity.

  • The proposal was structured around the owner's priorities, connecting technical scope to program goals of expanded capacity, improved passenger experience, and increased concessions revenue

  • Renderings and animations were produced to give decision-makers a vivid, credible picture of the finished product, bridging the gap between engineering drawings and public expectation

  • Presentation coaching sessions were built around the specific demands of a live airport selection interview, preparing team members to navigate technical questions and stay on message

The result was a client team fully equipped to make a compelling case for their approach under the pressure of a high-stakes selection.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a pursuit package that matched the scale and complexity of a billion-dollar airport expansion.

  • The proposal organized a multi-phased, multi-element scope into a narrative that was easy to follow and persuasive to a public-sector selection committee

  • Renderings and animations provided the visual proof of concept needed to convey design quality and passenger experience well in advance of construction

  • The presentation and coaching work gave the team a polished, rehearsed delivery ready for the demands of a live interview format

The client entered the selection process as a well-prepared, visually compelling team with a clear and confident story to tell.
