Project Overview

The Out of Door Academy, a private K-12 school in Sarasota, Florida, initiated a $91 million campus transformation anchored by a comprehensive Master Plan developed in collaboration with architectural design firm WRT. The program encompassed six major initiatives: a new Business and Innovation Building, a Campus Connector Road to ease vehicular access, expanded parking, a Welcome Center and Dining hub, targeted classroom renovations, and a new Athletics and Wellness facility. To pursue a role in bringing the Master Plan to life, the client engaged PRESWERX to craft a compelling proposal, build a selection presentation, and coach the team ahead of the interview.

Client Challenges

The client faced the challenge of translating an ambitious, multi-phase campus vision into a cohesive pursuit narrative that would resonate with a school board audience:

  • The six-component Master Plan touched every corner of campus, and each initiative needed to read as part of a single, integrated story rather than a collection of unrelated projects.

  • Communicating design quality and long-term value before construction began was critical to building confidence among board members approving significant, multi-year investments.

  • A competitive field of qualified firms required the team to demonstrate more than credentials: they needed to show genuine alignment with ODA's educational mission and community values.

  • Team members who were skilled designers but not experienced presenters needed structured coaching to perform confidently in a live panel setting.

Together, these challenges called for a pursuit partner that could bring clarity to a complex program and help the team communicate it with conviction.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX developed a complete pursuit package tailored to the complexity and scale of the ODA Campus Master Plan. The written proposal was structured to introduce the six-component program in a way that connected each initiative directly to the school's strategic priorities, giving evaluators a clear and readable picture of what the Master Plan would accomplish and why the client was the right team to deliver it. PRESWERX also produced a selection presentation that organized scope, design intent, and team qualifications into a compelling visual narrative. Alongside the presentation, PRESWERX led coaching sessions to prepare team members for the live interview format.

PRESWERX Approach

PRESWERX treated this engagement as a communication design challenge before a document production task. The team studied the ODA Master Plan in depth to understand the school's priorities before drafting a single line of the proposal.

  • PRESWERX structured the proposal around ODA's stated strategic goals, connecting each of the six Master Plan components to a specific institutional need rather than leading with the client's portfolio or past performance.

  • The selection presentation was built for a non-technical board audience, using clear sequencing and strong visual hierarchy to guide evaluators through a complex, multi-initiative program without losing momentum.

  • Coaching sessions helped presenters speak conversationally about project scope, anticipate evaluator questions, and project confidence in a formal panel environment.

The result was a coordinated pursuit package, from written proposal through live presentation, that positioned the client as a team that understood ODA's vision and had the expertise to execute it.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a pursuit package held to the standard of a high-stakes, public-facing selection process where clarity and credibility each carry significant weight.

  • The proposal gave evaluators a structured, readable narrative that organized a complex six-initiative program into a coherent story tied directly to ODA's strategic plan.

  • The selection presentation provided the client's team with a polished, well-sequenced visual tool capable of sustaining a board-level audience through a detailed and multi-faceted program review.

  • Presentation coaching left team members prepared to present with authority, field difficult questions, and adapt to the dynamics of a live panel setting.

Going into the selection, the client had a proposal that made their case on paper, a presentation that made it visually, and the confidence to deliver it in person.
