Project Overview
The Burbank Airport Replacement Passenger Terminal was a major capital project undertaken by the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority in Burbank, California. The project called for an entirely new terminal facility designed to meet current airport safety, seismic, and ADA standards, consolidate fragmented operations, improve airfield efficiency, and create a substantially better passenger experience. The design was required to honor the unique landscape, architectural character, and aviation history of Burbank while incorporating connectivity to public transit and rail. The client pursued the work through a progressive design-build procurement and engaged PRESWERX to develop the pursuit's visual materials and presentation strategy.

Client Challenges
The client faced a high-stakes pursuit on a technically complex, publicly visible project, with a sophisticated owner who had clearly stated its priorities:
• Communicating the scale and vision of a full terminal replacement as a single, cohesive story that resonated with a public-sector selection committee
Visualizing design quality before construction began, translating architectural and operational concepts into imagery accessible to non-technical decision-makers
Differentiating the team's progressive design-build experience in a competitive field through compelling visual storytelling rather than text-heavy submittals
Preparing leadership to deliver a confident, focused interview performance across a wide range of technical and community-facing topics
Each challenge required the pursuit materials and coaching to work together as a unified strategy, not as separate deliverables.

Scope of Work
PRESWERX produced a full suite of pursuit support materials calibrated to the scale and complexity of the Burbank Airport project. The engagement included the development of high-quality architectural renderings that conveyed the terminal's design intent and brought the project's character to life for the selection committee. Motion animations translated key spatial and operational concepts into formats that made complex ideas immediately legible. PRESWERX also built and refined the client's pursuit presentation, structuring the narrative around the owner's stated objectives and maintaining visual consistency throughout. Presentation coaching sessions prepared the team to deliver with clarity and conviction in the competitive interview environment.

PRESWERX Approach
PRESWERX approached the engagement as a strategic pursuit partner, connecting every deliverable directly to what the owner said it needed to hear:
Developed architectural renderings and motion animations that captured the design vision and reinforced the team's narrative across visual formats
Structured the pursuit presentation around the owner's stated priorities, weaving the team's design-build track record into a clear and specific story
Conducted targeted coaching sessions to sharpen the team's delivery and prepare them for the range of questions a public-sector owner was likely to raise
The result was a cohesive, visually consistent package that gave the client the tools and preparation to communicate with authority on every aspect of the pursuit.
Results Delivered
PRESWERX delivered a complete pursuit package on a competitive timeline, held to the standard demanded by a high-profile, public-sector selection:
The renderings gave the selection committee a vivid and accurate sense of the terminal's architectural character and design quality before construction began
The animations made complex operational and spatial concepts immediately accessible, reducing cognitive load for evaluators who were not technical specialists
Presentation coaching gave the client's leadership the structure and confidence to deliver precise, composed responses throughout the interview
The client entered the selection fully prepared, with materials and a presentation performance that matched the scale and scrutiny of the opportunity.
