Project Overview

Atrium Health pursued a $250 million hospital in the Lake Norman area of Charlotte, North Carolina, a 160,000 SF facility designed to serve a rapidly growing regional population. The hospital was planned to include 30 acute care beds, 8 observation beds, two operating rooms, a C-section OR, a full imaging suite, 8 emergency bays, a helipad, lab, and pharmacy, with site infrastructure requiring coordination around a highpressure gas line and a potential sewer bore under I-77. The facility was also designed for future expansion to 300 patient rooms. PRESWERX supported the client's pursuit with presentation development, presentation coaching, renderings, and animations.

Client Challenges

The client needed to communicate the scope, technical complexity, and future potential of a major regional hospital to a sophisticated healthcare owner in a competitive selection environment:

  • Translating a technically dense hospital program, spanning acute care, surgical suites, imaging, emergency services, and complex utility infrastructure, into a visually compelling, owner-focused narrative.

  • Visualizing a facility that did not yet exist in a way that conveyed both design quality and the client's construction approach.

  • Preparing the team to deliver a polished, confident live presentation to Atrium Health's selection panel.

The client needed pursuit materials and coaching that matched the scale and profile of a $250 million healthcare pursuit.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX developed a full suite of pursuit materials for the client's $250 million Atrium Health Lake Norman Hospital pursuit. The work included a custom presentation built around the hospital's program and the client's approach, supported by professionally produced renderings and animations that visualized the facility before a single foundation was poured. PRESWERX also provided presentation coaching to prepare the client's team for the live selection interview with Atrium Health. The combination of visual content, structured narrative, and interview preparation gave the client a cohesive, polished package tailored to the demands of a major healthcare pursuit.

PRESWERX Approach

PRESWERX built the pursuit package around the specific complexity of the Atrium Health Lake Norman program, ensuring the visuals and narrative worked together rather than as separate pieces.

  • Developed renderings and animations that brought the facility to life, emphasizing the hospital's clinical program, patient flow, and long-term expansion potential.

  • Structured the presentation narrative to address the owner's priorities directly, connecting the client's experience to Atrium Health's goals for the Lake Norman community.

  • Coached the client's team through the live interview format, sharpening delivery and preparing them for owner questions on schedule, phasing, and utility complexity.

The result was a prepared team backed by pursuit materials built to the scale of a $250 million hospital engagement.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a complete pursuit package that positioned the client with strong visual collateral and a rehearsed, confident team ready for the Atrium Health selection process.

  • Renderings and animations gave the owner a vivid, specific picture of the finished facility, reinforcing the client's design sensibility and command of the hospital program.

  • The structured presentation connected the client's capabilities directly to the Lake Norman project's clinical, operational, and infrastructure requirements.

  • Presentation coaching sharpened the team's delivery, ensuring every speaker was prepared to address owner questions on the most complex elements of the program.

The client entered the Atrium Health selection interview with polished materials and a well-rehearsed team ready to represent a $250 million pursuit at its full potential.
