Project Overview

The Alice Walton School of Medicine campus housing project in Bentonville, Arkansas was a complex, multi-phase residential development planned to serve three distinct populations on a shared site. The program encompassed 350 to 500 mixed-use units across multiple buildings: housing for incoming medical students at the newly established school, participants in Crystal Bridges Museum of Art intern and fellowship programs, and workforce residents from the broader Bentonville community. Each population brought different needs to the same site on NE J Street. The client engaged PRESWERX to develop the proposal content, visual materials, and presentation strategy for the competitive pursuit.

Client Challenges

The client needed to present a layered, three-audience housing program to a sophisticated ownership team without letting the complexity undermine the clarity of the pitch:

  • Weaving three distinct residential populations (medical students, arts program participants, and workforce residents) into a single, cohesive project narrative that felt intentional rather than disconnected

  • Visualizing the character and scale of a 350 to 500-unit phased development before architectural designs were finalized

  • Differentiating the team's approach in a competitive selection environment with a high-profile ownership group

  • Preparing the project team for a polished, confident live interview

Together, these challenges demanded a pursuit strategy that was as organized as it was compelling.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX delivered a full suite of pursuit materials calibrated to the program's complexity and the expectations of a high-profile owner. Proposal writing framed the three residential populations as complementary parts of one coherent community vision, giving the client a clear narrative spine. Custom renderings translated early massing studies into imagery that conveyed design intent and the character of everyday life on the site. Animated walkthroughs and a project film brought spatial and experiential qualities to life that static images alone could not. A full presentation package and structured coaching sessions prepared the client team for the live selection interview.

PRESWERX Approach

PRESWERX treated the three housing populations not as separate programs but as components of one integrated community story, shaping every deliverable around that idea:

  • Developed a proposal narrative that connected medical school housing, arts program accommodations, and workforce units under a shared theme of community and access

  • Produced renderings and animations tied directly to the site massing studies, grounding visuals in the actual geometry and scale of the project

  • Structured the presentation around the owner's stated priorities, then coached the team to deliver it with confidence and precision

That unified approach ensured the written content, visuals, and live delivery reinforced one another throughout the pursuit.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a complete pursuit package built to the standards of a high-profile academic and cultural owner:

  • The proposal gave the client a clear, confident narrative that addressed program complexity without losing the owner's attention

  • Renderings and films provided the visual evidence needed to convey design quality and community character before construction began

  • Presentation coaching equipped the team with a structured delivery approach and the confidence to perform under the pressure of a live selection interview

The client entered the selection process with a compelling, fully integrated story and the materials to support it at every stage.
