Project Overview
Bush Watson Cape Fear Development undertook the redevelopment of the former WWAY broadcast facility at 615 N. Front Street in Wilmington, North Carolina, into a mixed-use project valued at $42,175,000. The program replaced the existing structure with ground-floor retail and restaurant space along Nutt Street, topped by hotel accommodations and residential apartments above. The client pursued the general construction contract and engaged PRESWERX to develop a competitive pursuit package. PRESWERX delivered renderings, animations, a polished selection presentation, and targeted presentation coaching to help the client's team make a strong case for this urban infill project.

Client Challenges
A mixed-use redevelopment in an active urban corridor required the client to communicate a layered program to a private developer with high expectations for design quality and market positioning:
Bringing a multi-use program (retail, hotel, and residential) to life visually so the owner could evaluate massing, character, and street presence before breaking ground.
Articulating how the replacement structure would fit into and elevate the existing streetscape along N. Front and Nutt Streets.
Differentiating the client's team in a competitive bid environment for a high-profile urban infill opportunity.
Each challenge required a pursuit package that conveyed both construction capability and a genuine understanding of the owner's development vision.

Scope of Work
PRESWERX produced a full pursuit package for the client's 615 N Front bid. Renderings captured the mixed-use building's exterior, illustrating how the retail base, hotel, and residential levels would read at street level and from the broader Wilmington streetscape. Animations gave the owner a dynamic view of the building's massing and program relationships, helping communicate the project's urban presence before construction began. PRESWERX also developed the client's selection presentation, organizing the narrative around the owner's development priorities, and delivered presentation coaching to prepare the team for a sharp, confident interview performance.

PRESWERX Approach
PRESWERX approached this engagement with an eye toward the owner's development perspective, building visuals and narrative that spoke to design ambition and urban context as much as construction execution.
Developed renderings and animations that communicated the building's mixeduse character and its relationship to the surrounding streetscape.
Structured the presentation to lead with the owner's vision, then demonstrate how the client's team was best positioned to deliver it.
Coached the client's presenters to convey both technical capability and genuine alignment with the owner's goals for the redevelopment.
The result was a cohesive pursuit package that positioned the client as a builder who understood the project's context and the owner's investment.
Results Delivered
PRESWERX delivered a complete set of pursuit materials for a competitive mixed-use redevelopment bid, built to the quality standard of a $42,175,000 urban infill project in a visible Wilmington location.
Renderings and animations gave the owner a clear, compelling picture of the completed building's street presence and program mix before construction began.
The structured presentation organized a layered mixed-use narrative into a confident, owner-focused story the client's team could own.
Coaching prepared the client's team to walk into the interview sharp, aligned, and ready to answer detailed questions about the project.
The client entered the selection fully equipped with a professional pursuit package and a team prepared to compete for one of Wilmington's more distinctive urban redevelopment projects.
